Once upon a time, there was a traveling baby who turned two somewhere between Iceland and England. His mama was so busy with travel plans that she convinced herself that he could forego the cake and presents.
The big brothers and sisters cried slander and treason.
The traveling continued through France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Poland. Major holidays were celebrated–Christmas, New Years and the older siblings’ birthdays. With each new country, the sibling travelers assured enduring much longer without cake and presents would be a lifelong agony of said two-year old.
“Even the dolly had a birthday.” they reminded.
The guilt mounted. We finally celebrated baby Jeriah’s turning two–a few months late–in Israel. Happy birthday sweet Jeriah. We love you.
